For the last 13 years Dr. John McCann has limited his practice to facial plastic surgery. He is an expert in cosmetic surgery of the eyelids, midface, lower face and forehead. He also offers non-surgical procedures including Botox, fillers, laser, and light skin treatments. In addition he cares for patients with disorders that affect the eyelids, orbit, or tear drainage system.

Dr. McCann was born in Iowa and is a graduate of the University of Iowa, where he completed medical school and received a PhD in biophysics and physiology. His PhD thesis was critical to elucidating the molecular cause of the most common lethal genetic disease of those of European descent, Cystic Fibrosis. Dr. McCann completed eye surgery training at the prestigious University of California, San Francisco. He did advanced training in eyelid and facial plastic surgery at the University of Utah. After completing his training in Utah, he took a position on the full-time faculty at the Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA. During 9 years on the full time faculty at UCLA, Dr. McCann was the head of ophthalmology at a UCLA affiliated hospital, the founder and director of the Aesthetic Center at The Jules Stein Eye Center, and the co-director of the orbital disease center at UCLA. After achieving tenure at UCLA he retired from the university to become the medical director of The Center for Facial Appearances.
